About Drift

Drift is a local-first RSS and Atom feed reader. It fetches feeds directly from their source and keeps its own SQLite database on your device, so the app works fully offline and does not depend on any third-party service to function.

Drift is free and open source software, licensed under the AGPL-3.0-or-later.

Key features:

* Fetches RSS and Atom feeds directly, with no intermediary server required

* Local SQLite storage; your subscriptions and read history stay on your device

* OPML import and export for moving feeds in and out of other readers

* Optional self-hosted sync: point Drift at your own sync relay to keep subscriptions and read status in step across devices. The relay only relays data between your own devices; it is never the source of truth and is entirely optional

* Full-text article fetching for feeds that only publish summaries

* Starred articles, feed tags, and article search

* Background refresh and new-article notifications

* Home-screen article widget

Drift contains no advertisements, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. The only network access it makes is to fetch the feeds you subscribe to and, if you choose to configure one, your own sync server.

Drift is available for Android, Linux, macOS, and the web.

What's new in 1.1.2

First release on F-Droid. * Widget toolbar: refresh from the home screen, see when it last updated, and change a widget's settings in place * Add feeds without typing https:// — common feed locations are tried automatically * Tags created from a feed's settings are assigned to that feed * Fixed sync authentication, pagination, and mid-sync data loss * Fixed "Mark as unread" from the long-press sheet and reader menu * Article HTML is sanitized before display
