About EbookConverter
EbookConverter wraps gryf/ebook-converter (a Calibre fork) to run natively on Android via Chaquopy.
Features:
- Convert between popular ebook formats (epub, mobi, azw3, docx, fb2, …) directly on your phone
- Auto input: epub, mobi, azw3, docx, odt, fb2, html, htmlz, lrf, pdb, rtf, txt, md, markdown, pdf, kfx
- Auto output: epub, kfx, mobi, azw3, docx, fb2, htmlz, lrf, md, txt, txtz
- Settings for Auto, Calibre, or direct boko conversion, with backend-specific format choices
- Auto combines Calibre and boko through intermediate EPUBs for KFX input and KFX/Markdown output
- Direct boko input: epub, kfx, azw3, mobi; output: epub, kfx, azw3, md
- Cancel conversions and discard temporary batch outputs without changing original books
- Clear all selected books or tap session history to select them again
- Output profiles for Kindle, Kobo, Nook, iPad, and generic e-ink devices
- Metadata editing (title, authors, publisher)
- Font size and margin controls
- Dark mode support
- No internet required — all conversion runs locally
Limitations:
- PDF input supports text-based PDFs only (scanned PDFs need OCR, unavailable on Android)
- PDF output not supported
- Calibre mode has no KFX input or KFX/Markdown output; direct boko mode has no Calibre conversion options
