About geminiAssist

geminiAssist is a simple WebView wrapper for Google Gemini. It blocks all URLs that are not essential for functioning.

You can switch on/off blocking by clicking the button at the top right.

Swipe up a bit to hide the button.

Long press the button to reset the chat. This clears cookies, cache and site data, and signs you out.

What's new in 1.3

Fixed voice input not starting the first time the microphone permission is granted. Tapping a link outside the allowlist now opens it in your browser instead of doing nothing. Generated images (blob URLs) can now be downloaded, both via the download button and by long pressing the image. Previously long pressing crashed the app.

How to install geminiAssist

  1. Tap Download — the app's official page on F-Droid opens.
  2. Install it with the F-Droid app (recommended, for automatic updates), or use the download button on that page.
  3. If Android asks, allow the F-Droid app or your browser to install apps, then tap Install.
  4. Open geminiAssist from your app drawer.
