About kiFOSSk
kiFOSSk is a lightweight, open-source kiosk browser designed to turn your Android device into a dedicated display for remote dashboards. Whether you're monitoring ADS-B flights, viewing Home Assistant dashboards, or running digital signage, kiFOSSk provides a reliable, privacy-first solution.
Key Features:
• Home Launcher Mode: Automatically starts on boot without complex Device Owner setup.
• Resilient: Automatic retry with exponential backoff, and a friendly waiting screen when the dashboard host is unreachable — no blank screens, no manual refresh.
• Privacy Focused: Zero Google Play Services, no analytics, no telemetry.
• Customizable: Set dashboard URL, orientation, and screen timeout.
• Battery Optimized: Built-in option to request unrestricted battery usage for always-on displays.
• Secure: Minimal permissions, local storage only, connects only to your configured URL.
Perfect for GrapheneOS users, privacy-conscious homelab enthusiasts, and any spare Android device destined for wall duty.
Setup is simple: Install, enter your dashboard URL, and set as the default home app. No root, no Device Owner, no bloatware — just a clean kiosk experience.

What's new in 1.1.3
Fix: dashboards not rendering on legacy WebView engines (Android 7-8) - v1.1.x regression restored; pages that can't render trip a circuit breaker into a stable loading page, ending the white-screen/reload cycle (#2) Fix: retry counter stalling at the second attempt - backoff now advances properly Also: duplicate recovery loops eliminated, slow-loading dashboards no longer mistaken for dead ones (charts/images count as live), WebView engine version detected and logged at startup
