About Nocean
All the notes, none of the cloud.
Nocean is a small, fast, fully offline rich-text notes app. Your notes and media stay in the app's private storage. The app doesn't even request the Internet permission.
Features
Rich text: H1, H2 and H3 headings, bold, italic, and a font per text range
Fonts, offline: Inter, Lora, Playfair Display, DM Serif Display, Nunito, Oswald, Caveat and Geist Mono ship inside the app. No network or Play Services needed
Inline media: insert images, videos and audio. Tap one to open a full-screen viewer with pinch-zoom, or a player
Zip backup: export every note and its media to one .zip and restore it on any device. On import, a note replaces an existing one only if it's newer
Pinned notes: long-press a card to pin it to the top of the list. Pinning doesn't change the note's edited date
Three ways to search: plain substring, fuzzy subsequence matching, or a case-insensitive regular expression. Tap the badge in the search field to cycle; the choice is remembered
Share: send a note's text to any app, or share text into Nocean to save it as a new note
Note info: word, character and paragraph counts, media totals, and created/edited dates
Four themes: Ocean, Pepper, Cherry and Tokyo Night, with a frosted-glass look (real blur on Android 12+)
Light and dark: an Auto / Light / Dark toggle. Ocean and Pepper follow it; Cherry is light-only and Tokyo Night is dark-only
What's new in 0.2.0
- New Tokyo Night theme, alongside Ocean, Pepper and Cherry - Auto / Light / Dark toggle in the menu. Ocean and Pepper follow it; Cherry is light-only and Tokyo Night dark-only, so the toggle greys out and the gold "i" says why - Pin notes to the top: long-press a card to pin, unpin or delete - Search by plain substring, fuzzy matching or a regular expression. Tap the badge in the search field to cycle; the choice is remembered
