About openCook
openCook is an open-source, offline-first recipe app. Collect, plan and cook your recipes — without an account, ads or tracking.
Recipe management, meal planning and the shopping list work fully offline on your device. An optional self-hosted server (which you run yourself, on your own hardware) adds AI photo scanning and family sync over your home network — there is no cloud and no registration.
Features:
* Works fully offline — your recipes never leave your device
* No account, no ads, no tracking
* Turn cookbook photos into structured recipes (optional self-hosted AI)
* Rolling meal planner that tells you why a dish was suggested
* Shared shopping list
* Barcode scanning via Open Food Facts
* Import recipes from the web, or browse recipe sites right inside the app
* Family sync through your own home server, or phone-to-phone over Wi-Fi
* Available in English, German and French
openCook is free software licensed under the GPLv3.
What's new in 0.3
* Discover: browse recipe sites inside the app and import with one tap. * openCook now speaks French, next to English and German. * The meal planner is one rolling 15-day list — swap a dish and see why it was suggested. * New retrospective: everything you cooked, month by month. * Sync pauses off your home network, and the icon only turns when data really moves. * Faster tab switching, plus fixes for web imports, deleted recipes and standby sync.
