About Pinry client

An unofficial Android app for Pinry , the self-hosted Pinterest alternative. You need your own Pinry server (2.x) to use it.

Search tags and boards

Pin from anywhere

From your gallery, from a URL, or from any app with Android's share sheet

Links to web pages use the page's preview image

HEIC and rotated phone photos are fixed before upload

Tags with autocomplete, private pins, straight into a board

Organise

Edit and delete your pins

Create, rename, hide and delete boards; save pins to them or remove them

Download pictures to your phone, or share them to other apps

Long-press any pin to save, download or share it

Made to look good

Material 3 Expressive design

Colors from your wallpaper, a swatch or any hue; nine palette styles

Light, dark and pure black themes; three grid sizes

Each pin's screen takes its colors from the image

Browse public servers without an account, or log in to private ones; plain http on your home network works too. No analytics, no ads, no crash reporting: the app only talks to your server and to pages you pin from, unless you turn on Gravatar avatars in Settings.

What's new in 0.3.0

Download a pin's picture from its screen or from the full-screen viewer. Share now sends the picture instead of the link. Long-press any pin to save, download or share it. There's a new Search tab for tags and boards, and you can swipe sideways in the viewer to go through the feed. Also fixes a crash when a pin's buttons didn't fit on one row.

How to install Pinry client

  1. Tap Download — the app's official page on F-Droid opens.
  2. Install it with the F-Droid app (recommended, for automatic updates), or use the download button on that page.
  3. If Android asks, allow the F-Droid app or your browser to install apps, then tap Install.
  4. Open Pinry client from your app drawer.
