About Scrib
Scrib is a lightweight text workspace for Android. Paste or share text in, use the editing helpers to isolate exactly what you need, then copy it back out.
Works well for things like extracting a phone number from a wall of text: share to Scrib, tap the number, copy.
Features:
- Share target: any app can share text directly to Scrib via Android's share sheet
- Smart cleaning: strips trailing URLs and surrounding quotation marks automatically on share
- Cursor controls: move left, right, up, down and select the word under the caret — no fiddling with touch handles
- Clipboard actions: append, replace from clipboard, or copy the note or current selection in one tap
- Persistent undo: undo/redo history saved across restarts
What's new in 0.1.9
Move a line without leaving the bar: swipe up off the Up button, or down off Down. The launch screen now follows dark theme instead of flashing white. Fixed the Quick Settings tile not picking up the clipboard on most devices.
How to install Scrib
- Tap Download — the app's official page on F-Droid opens.
- Install it with the F-Droid app (recommended, for automatic updates), or use the download button on that page.
- If Android asks, allow the F-Droid app or your browser to install apps, then tap Install.
- Open Scrib from your app drawer.
