About Smart Card Reader

Allow a host computer to use the smartphone's NFC hardware as contact-less

smartcard reader. On the host computer a special smart card driver, vpcd, must

be installed. The app establishes a connection to vpcd over the network when a

contact-less card is detected.

How to install Smart Card Reader

  1. Tap Download — the app's official page on F-Droid opens.
  2. Install it with the F-Droid app (recommended, for automatic updates), or use the download button on that page.
  3. If Android asks, allow the F-Droid app or your browser to install apps, then tap Install.
  4. Open Smart Card Reader from your app drawer.
