About Zazen

Zazen is a modern, minimal meditation timer for Android. It stays out of the

way so you can sit: no account, no network access, no tracking, no ads.

Features:

* Clean timer — a full-screen countdown with circular progress.

* Open-ended sits — no duration and no countdown: the timer simply counts up,

and the sit ends when you decide it does, closing bell included.

* Interval bells — schedule bells at specific points within a session, for

example a bell at 5 minutes for a body scan and a different one at 15

minutes for breath work.

* Repeating bell — ring every few minutes for the whole sit, in a timed

session or an open-ended one.

* Silent mode — a vibrate-only option so you can meditate near sleeping kids.

* Session tracking — review your meditation history and total time sat.

* Beautiful sounds — Tibetan bowls, bells and gongs.

* Backup and restore — export your presets, sessions and preferences to a

file, and import them again on another device.

Privacy:

Zazen requests no internet permission at all, so it is incapable of sending

your data anywhere. Everything stays in local storage on your device.

Zazen is free software released under the MIT licence. The bundled sounds come

from the BodhiTimer project and the nyxkn/meditation collection; individual

attributions are listed in the NOTICES file in the source repository.

What's new in 1.6.1

Timed sessions now continue counting after the closing bell, so you can sit longer without starting a new session. When saving a preset, choose to overwrite the existing one or save a new copy. This release also removes APK dependency metadata that F-Droid cannot accept.
